Trip Log 47.7 nm total miles this trip: 1638 nautical miles to date
Left Halifax early, easy trip to Lunenberg, had sun, clouds, little wind, low swells. Lovely town from approach, colorful. Dockage not very good like most places along the Atlantic coast of NS. But they are working on it, adding floating docks to the big fix wharves. We moved 4 times at Zwicker Dock to get power and water.
Interesting town with lovely harbor, tourist shops, restaurants, small museum with museum boats along the dock. There was a market nearby for us to reprovision. The famous schooner Bluenose II is docked at Lunenberg, this is a replica of the earlier fishing schooner, and is part of the marine museum which we enjoyed visiting.
Lunenberg folk festival on 8/7 to 8/10, some good acts, our favorite was Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem from CT & MA, we attended a sort performance at one of the local churches and spent most of an afternoon enjoying performances at a park bandstand. We also visited an old house/museum and a thrift store. Our dock gave us a wonderful view of the beautiful harbor and it was fun to watch a dory race one morning in the harbor.
