July 9, Wednesday, Day 18 -- left windy Burligton and enjoyed a lovely trip up Lake Champlain to Rouses Point, the last US stop on the New York side of the lake. We stayed overnight here and left at 9 am in the morning. This is our second boat trip to Lake Champlain and I have a tendency to forget how big this water body is -- with islands and coves and bays, one could spend years of interesting boating here, with no need to leave the lake. It feels like the ocean.
At Rouses Point within a few hours we saw much different skys -- all beautiful:
The Fort is called Fort Blunder -- twas built by US inadvertently on Canadian land -- the US never "moved in" and its been privately owned for some years.
Now there is a "for sale" sign if anyone wants a fort of their own.
Border Buoy
Canadian Customs check in -- we can stay until September 15th!
