We left L'anse St. Jean at 8 am, by 2:30 we were tied up, fueled up, and having lunch at Rimouski Marina, where we will stay for a few days. Easy traveling to Rimousi, breezy with some chop, water temperature 43. Along the way we passed small villages, many with a lighthouse, all with a church steeple or two. We see little recreational boating in this area. We spent a day or so at Rimouski, did an oil change, replaced the troublesome leaking o-ring, went for a walk for some exercise, got groceries, got a haircut, lunch at the marina and snacked for dinner. Didn't meet up with anyone who spoke english -- even at the hair salon and the restaurant, it was all french! Since we don't speak French, more than a few words, communication sometimes gets challenging.
On Sunday July 20th -- day 29 of our trip -- we ran from Rimouski to St. Anne De Monts, a 72 mile run, it was flat calm all the way, we saw whales, seals, dolphin, and came into a nice marina, well protected, $50.30 for the night. Had cocktails with Tom and Ann of Anne's Odyssey who were here.
As you can see from the pictures, many of these harbors are created with huge rock bulkheads with floating docks built inside, they seem to work quite well.
